Mr. K Kasturirangan to head nine-member panel on National Education Policy

Former ISRO head, K Kasturirangan to head nine-member panel on National Education Policy The Union ministry of human resource development has appointed a new nine-member panel, headed by space scientist Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, to work on National Education Policy (NEP), sources said. The Prakash Javadekar-led HRD ministry has chosen experts and educationists from wide-ranging backgrounds to be part of the panel that is expected to recast India's education policy. Besides Kasturirangan, who headed Indian space agency ISRO, the panel includes former IAS officer, K J Alphonse Kanamthanam. He had played a key role in helping Keralas Kottayam and Ernakulam districts achieve 100 percent literacy, sources said. Amul Increases Farmers' Income By Four-Fold In Seven Years Results of the apex body of dairy cooperatives in Gujarat were declared on 15th June 2017, in the 43rd Annual General Meeting of GCMMF. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, which markets the popular Amul brand of milk and dairy products, has successfully quadrupled the income of its dairy farmers in last seven years. During the last seven years, Amul’s milk procurement prices to its farmer-members more than doubled from Rs. 24.30 per litre for buffalo milk in 2009-10 to Rs. 49 per litre in 2016-17. Since the cooperative’s total milk procurement also doubled during this period, from 90.9 lakh litres per day to 176.5 lakh litres per day, this effectively increased the income of its dairy farmers, four-fold in the last seven years."

The site was previously occupied by Old World Hospitality’s other restaurant Chor Bizarre. Indian Accent showcases inventive Indian cuisine by complementing the flavours and traditions of India with global ingredients and techniques. Rohit Khattar, Founder & Chairman, Old World Hospitality, the parent company of Indian Accent, stated, "We are so very grateful to the loyal diners of Chor Bizarre for their love and patronage that kept us going for 20 glorious years."   He added, "This decision to close Chor Bizarre was hard. However, it did need major refurbishment after so long and whilst we were looking for a home for Indian Accent, we realised that there was no space more perfect than 16 Albemarle Street, Mayfair."
