Ed Tech Startup AEON Learning Bags Fund Bengaluru-based AEON Learning Pvt. Ltd, which offers online degree programmes and skill development courses, has raised $3.2 million (Rs 20.43 crore) in a Series B round from MEMG Family Office LLP. AEON will use the latest investments towards growing business from its university partnerships, and skill programmes. The startup expects to reach a student base of over 100,000 in the next five years. It currently operates in India and the US. AEON Learning was founded by Karthik KS and Vikalp Jain. The company has a student base of 20,000 spanning 66 countries, and works with seven institute and university partners, 36 corporate partners. About 20% of its business originates from the US. Aeon Learning came into existence in November 2017, following the merger of online education technology service provider Avagmah and online skill development course provider Acadgild.

Bengal Government Signs MoU With KFC And Pizza Hut For More Outlets West Bengal government said its Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department has signed an MoU with Devyani International Ltd for setting up more KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in the state. "This is an expansion plan of Devyani International to open four-to-five KFC restaurants and two-to-three Pizza hut restaurants every year at various locations in the state for the next five years. The total investment by the group is Rs 100 crore," a government statement said. Devyani International Ltd, the Indian franchisee of Yum Restaurants India, represents the KFC, Pizza Hut chains in the country. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky in the US, Yum! David Beckham Launches L'Oreal Men's Grooming Products David Beckham is following his wife into the beauty market with a label of his own for L'Oreal. The soccer star married to fashion mogul Victoria Beckham will launch 21 men's grooming products under the name House 99 on Feb. 1 in the United Kingdom, exclusively at Harvey Nichols stores. The products for beards, shaving, face, body, tattoos and hair will roll out to other retailers there and in 19 countries starting March 1, Women's Wear Daily said in a statement . Beckham told a small number of journalists at a London news conference he chose the number 99 as a nod to a watershed year for him "as a person, as a sportsman and I just became more mature because I had to (with) the birth of my first son, Brooklyn."

Beauty Product Marketplace Purplle.com Raises Fresh Fund Mumbai-based Manash Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd, which operates beauty products and services marketplace Purplle.com, has secured Rs 3.44 crore ($537,000) in a fresh funding round from investors. Purplle had last raised an undisclosed sum from JSW Ventures and existing investors stage investor Blume Ventures and early-to-growth-stage VC firm IvyCap Ventures in July last year. In January 2015, it secured its Series A funding round from IvyCap Ventures. The company had raised its seed funding from Blume Ventures, Mumbai Angels and Chennai Angels in August 2013. Startup was founded by IIT Delhi alumnus Taneja and IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad alumnus Dash in 2012. Six-year-old company retails products for skin care, make-up, haircare, body care and beauty appliances from more than 600 Indian and international brands.
