Randeep Hooda and BBI Launch Gym99


Bollywood actor, Randeep Hooda, co-owner of Body Building India (BBI), fitness and supplements company, has launched “Gym 99”, a unique concept which will provides customers an option to pay just Rs 99 for an hour to avail gym facilities across India. With an investment of Rs 25-35 crore, BBI targets to open 50 gyms across India by 2017. The investment would be funded by internal accruals including investments by franchisee owners.
 
Randeep Hooda, Co-Owner and Brand Ambassador at Body Building India, said, “This new concept of plug and play by Gym 99 by BBI will create unparralleed demand for new audience including college students, housewives, working professionals and businessmen. Many people start to avoid gyms because they can’t adopt to daily workout routine and some can’t dodge work commitments, Gym 99 is meant for them. Our first gym will come up in Delhi and we are looking to expand to Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune, Noida and Gurgaon etc.”

BBI plans to expand its supplement stores to 100 from existing 30 stores across India by 2018.

Online Grocery BigBasket To Go Offline Post Alibaba Investment Following an investment by the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, Online grocer BigBasket is keen to go beyond its online-only model so as to counter the recent venture of Amazon and Flipkart into the offline business. The Bengaluru-based company is looking to supplement its core online business with offline kiosks that will stock daily groceries, fast-moving consumer goods, fruits and vegetables. These kiosks will be installed across various apartments and office complexes. BigBasket has already started a pilot for the new service with a separate app called BB Instant. To get users into increasing their purchasing frequency, it is also considering starting a subscription service for essential items like milk and bread, among others.
