By Launching Oil Brands And Vegetable Proteins


Cargill food India, a local unit of the largest closely held company in the US, is expanding its food retailing business in the country to include more edible oil brands, wheat derivatives, and vegetable proteins.

Deoki Muchcal , MD, Cargill Foods India said “We intend to introduce more products into fats, carbohydrates and proteins. These will serve the needs of a typical Indian household’s kitchen. The company also believes that there is space for a healthy brand of oil that would blend some essential fats. We are going to create edible oil products suited for local consumption.

We are not a country where we eat a lot of salad with an oil topping. We like to cook, so we will come with a formulation that enables housewives to cook, maintain health quotient and manage the taste. In the protein category, Cargill Foods may introduce a soya- or grain- or pulses-based product. In carbohydrates, we are already there with wheat flour and now we will look into derivatives with a health quotient, such as sooji or dalia.”

German Cosmetic Brand, BeYu Plans To Launch 300 Stores German premium cosmetic brand, BeYu from the ARTDECO group, aims to launch 300 stores by end of FY 2017-18. Out of these 300 stores, BeYu will launch 20 company owned and 280 shop-in-shop stores, BeYu India spokesperson said. In March 2017, Be Yu entered Delhi in a partnership with Kaunis Marketing Services. The brand which has presence in 40 countries globally is looking to have its stores in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata among other. Wai Wai City Plans To Open 1500 Outlets In Next Five Years Following in the footsteps of its flagship outlet at Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi, Wai Wai City, a ready to eat at noodle bar from popular noodle brand, Wai Wai, has now marked its presence at Logix City Centre, Noida. The QSR format has already started to roll out through the franchise channel with plans to invest Rs 250 crore for expansion.
