France's Babilou Childcare Picks Majority Stake

As a part of its strategy to enter the Indian market, French childcare group Babilou has acquired a majority stake in Chennai-based Amelio Early Education.
Sridevi Raghavan, founder and CEO, Amelio Early Education, said the partnership will help the company tap into the best practices of international curriculum in the early-education space. It will also help the company expand further into key Indian cities. Amelio Early Education is a day-care centre and preschool was founded in 2008 and is currently has 13 centres across Chennai and one in Bengaluru. For Babilou group, it is a new opportunity for expansion in India.
The French group, founded in 2003, has 520 childcare centres a combination of day-care centres, nursery clubs and nursery schools.
It is present in 8 countries including Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UAE.
