Personal Care Startup MCaffeine Bags $500,000 In Pre-Series A round Personal care startup MCaffeine has secured $500,000 (about Rs.3.3 crore) in a pre-Series A round led by a clutch of high net-worth individuals and angel investment platforms. The company, which was launched in 2015 by Vikas Lachhwani and Tarun Sharma, sells its products across the country’s top ecommerce platforms, including Amazon and Nyka. The company in a statement said the latest round of funding was led by the startup’s existing backer Harminder Sahni, founder of consultancy firm Wazir Advisors, Lets Ventures’ Mohit Bajaj and Calcutta Angels. This comes about 15 months after the Mumbai-based company had raised $300,000 from Sahni, Kaushal Aggarwal of Avendus Capital, Pranay Jivrajka, chief executive of FoodPanda India and others. France's Babilou Childcare Picks Majority Stake In Amelio Early Education As a part of its strategy to enter the Indian market, French childcare group Babilou has acquired a majority stake in Chennai-based Amelio Early Education. Sridevi Raghavan, founder and CEO, Amelio Early Education, said the partnership will help the company tap into the best practices of international curriculum in the early-education space. It will also help the company expand further into key Indian cities. Amelio Early Education is a day-care centre and preschool was founded in 2008 and is currently has 13 centres across Chennai and one in Bengaluru. For Babilou group, it is a new opportunity for expansion in India. The French group, founded in 2003, has 520 childcare centres a combination of day-care centres, nursery clubs and nursery schools. It is present in 8 countries including Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UAE.
